FRESCA! is my grandmother’s lemonade; it’s my cousin, the one from Huelva. FRESCA! is a night in August, a Sunday afternoon siesta or jumping in puddles on rainy days. FRESCA! is relaxing in bed with nothing to do, it’s running through the countryside, it’s my sister’s face in the mornings. FRESCA! is culture.
With this spirit FRESCA! was born just a few months ago.
Little by little, or a lot by a lot (depending on how you look at it), the great cultural commitment of the Institut Valencià de Cultura for the summer was taking shape in Alicante, until it became a reality on 16th August 2021. From that moment, and for ten days after, the FRESCA! International Festival of Performing Arts turned the Port of Alicante into a huge container of emotion, illusion, talent and culture.
An innovative, daring and ambitious project made up of a huge team that worked with great effort, but above all with great motivation; the ten professional dance, theatre and circus companies of enormous importance and national and international renown; and most importantly, by you, the public.
From this FRESCA! window, the entire Festival team wants to thank the audience for the wonderful welcome, the applause and the exemplary behaviour during the performances.
Thanks to all the fresh people that have accompanied us. You are already part of the first Festival FRESCA! family.
